How To Become A Great Sales Professional














The truth of the matter is that there is a Salesman / woman in all of us. We all sell on a daily basis. We sell ideas to friends, siblings, and spouses etc. We sell (promote) our skills and credentials to people on a daily basis - be they Heads of HR, Colleagues, Clients, Prospects, or Love Interests.

Hence, the first thing to recognise is that Selling is not an alien sport.

However to become a good Sales Professional requires Desire and Focus.

You need to develop the following Technical Skills;

Research skills - for prospecting
Negotiation Skills
Communication Skills
Rapport Building Skills
Relationship Building Skills
Cold Calling Skills

You also need to develop the art of closing deals, as well as build up a good depth of knowledge and understanding of Sales Psychology and Sales Perception. And let's not forget the ability to withstand pressure and handle rejection - two of the most common reasons that many people stear clear of Sales; and yet these same people profess to wanting to own their own businesses one day!

When you own your own business, you will need to be able to handle pressure as well as to know how to turn rejection to your advantage.

So how do you develop these skills?
