SUMMERTIME

As sumptuous glasses of Pims and Lemonade are being gulped down with gay abandonment by relaxed and merry fans watching drama after drama unfold at the perfectly green and cut lawns of the world's greatest tennis tournament, one can't help wondering if one is in the wrong job in the wrong country.

‎As I write this I'm witnessing a magnificent resurgence of the serve and volley game by a man ranked 102 in the world against the great Rafael Nadal. Dustin Brown is playing the game of his life, and making one of the game's greatest ever players look positively ordinary.

Meanwhile we in Nigeria continue to be harassed by rain, disillusioned with our seemingly never ending economic recession, and incessantly plagued by long petrol queues.

Can anyone really claim that life is fair?

Back to the reality at hand.

We all wanted change - at least those of us that care a little about our nation anyway.  We were concerned about whether or not Nigeria could survive another four years of gross incompetence and intolerable corruption.

Thankfully the change we desired became reality, and the PDP government was swept aside by what can only be described as an Overwhelming Movement.

But here we are today wondering whether we dreamed too far.

I don't believe we did. We needed someone to arrest the tidal wave of corruption that had swept over these shores; and that is what we're getting.

But that doesn't mean PMB is beyond criticism.

The reason for our disillusionment is simple. We haven't got a clue what the plan is. There's very little communication or information as to Methodology or End Goal.

There are two things this administration needs to do as a matter of urgency.

1. Stop talking about what the past government did and how bad the situation on ground was when you took over.

After upteen statements we're now very aware of how bad things were and still are. What we need now is a blueprint of how the nation will be repared.

2.  Communicate - tell us what you're doing, what your plans are, and how you intend to implement them. There's nothing worse than non-communication. Not communicating with the electorate leads to doubts, disillusionment, and despair.

So come on PMB - Tell us what your plan is.
