Hold On To His Promises

In Genesis chapter 12 verses 1 to 3, God promises Abraham so many blessings, ranging from Prosperity to a Great Name and Great Family to Divine Favour and an Everlasting Legacy.

He even assures him of his permanent safety - that anyone who comes against him will end up harming themselves.

Surely such a promise should have ensured a stress- free and worry-free life for Abraham.

But a few chapters later we see Abraham panic for fear of losing his life; resorting to lying to Abimelech that his wife Sarah is his sister, so as to avoid what he thought would be certain death.

This is a classic example of how we often forget who we are, and God's promises regarding our lives.

We are too often overwhelmed by what our eyes see, and how we feel.

During this period of economic uncertainty and hardship, I want to encourage all of us (yep - definitely myself included) to remember and hold on to who we are in Christ, and the promises God has made concerning our lives.

Keep going, and trust that God's promises shall come to pass at the right time.
