Victory In All Circumstances

'When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.'

Genesis 3 vs 6

It isn't a coincidence that Eve (mankind) was tested with the same temptations that Jesus faced whilst fasting in the wilderness.

1. Fruit of the tree was good for food = lust of the flesh

2. Pleasing to the eye = lust of the eyes

3. Desirable for gaining wisdom = desire for power, authority, and in this day and age fame.

Unfortunately Eve (mankind) was unable to resist such temptations and fell hook, line, and sinker.

In this light it is easy to understand why God didn't want Adam and Eve to eat the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. Due to an inherent penchant for selfish gains - be-it money, power, fame, or even relationships, we often make the wrong choices for our over-all wellbeing.

But Jesus overcame all of Satan's temptations; not for His sake, but for Ours.

Therefore even when we make the wrong choices, Grace(Jesus) is there to help us get on the right track again.

By His Victory we also have Victory.

Buhari's Cabinet - Northern Hegemony or Tribalistic Paranoia?

I woke up with a rather heavy heart this morning; a heart burdened by both our ever decreasing GDP growth rate and the inevitable grave consequences on the lives of millions of people; and the very clear and present danger of Nigeria going full circle again.

But as the writing side of my brain is only just beginning to warm up again after a few weeks rest, permit me to leave the mammoth topic that is the economy till next week.

Nigeria going full circle again??

What am I talking about?

Let's go back a few hours.
