Let's Help The People Of Nepal

Number of deaths so far as a result of the recent earthquake in Nepal is over 10,000, and counting.

The scenes are catastrophic - houses decimated, livelihoods obliterated, families devastated, and hope seemingly futile.

Yes, there are disasters all over the world. In-fact whilst watching Sky News a few evenings ago the words 'Disasters All Over The World' kept reverberating through my mind. By the time I had watched Sky News for just 20 minutes I was aghast with sorrow and confusion - What Is Going On In This World? Has it always been this bad? Or is it just the speed with which the media transmits the everyday horrors of this world?

Either way on Tuesday night I went to bed with heavy heart and teary eyes.

And yet we in Nigeria don't seem to be doing anything - apart from prayer. Prayer is great. But isn't it about time we did a little more?!

Whenever we experience disasters in Nigeria and Africa the rest of the world is quick to come to our aid.

I asked a couple of people today why nothing seems to be happening on this front. They both replied that it's because we are so steeped in our own economic problems.

Hey guys, there's nobody out there that doesn't have problems. But the good news is that we are NOT ALONE. We are here in this global village that grows increasingly smaller by the day to help one another - especially in times of crisis.

Nepal is in a Frightening State of Crisis.

Yes, continue to pray. But let's please do a little more than prayer. Let's raise some funds for these people - so that children can sleep in roofed houses once more; so that parents can go to work once more; and so that families can have Hope once more.

Does anyone know how we can help?
